Infra-Image (N45°19'37.92", E14°26'27.96") was presented at SKC Gallery, an address listed in a 1956 Rijeka directory as a warehouse for Ferrum, an iron and metal goods enterprise operating during Yugoslavia’s socialist period.
Blank projection light illuminated an existing wall where the paint was stripped away to reveal physical traces of use, repair, and transformation. Framed by the light, the wall is perceived simultaneously as a physical surface in the present and as a representational image evoking its past.
Situated within the context of the Student International Film Festival (STIFF), the work brings this history of labor and the history of cinematic viewing onto the same surface.
